Crowns and Bridges

While dental crowns and bridges seem like simple ways to treat dental problems, there is actually a considerable amount of artistry involved in getting them just right. Dr. Maryam Seifi concentrates on the fine points of providing these restorations to make sure her patients are not only comfortable with the fit, but that they are also completely happy with their appearance.

Crowns are created from durable porcelain material to cover a damaged tooth while a bridge is used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge consists of two or more crowns which attach to the healthy teeth on either side of the missing tooth. An artificial tooth between the two crowns fits comfortably in the space left by the missing tooth. The end result is a very natural-looking artificial replacement tooth.

The ideal way to design these restorations is to ensure they match the other teeth in both shape and color. And then when the crown or bridge is placed, it should fit perfectly within the adjacent teeth. The way the crown or bridge meets the opposing teeth should also be just right so there’s no pressure or pain.

Dr. Seifi is not satisfied with a crown or bridge until the fit and appearance are perfect. This means that her patients always get consistently excellent results.
